1 crystal pendant necklace, 2 pairs of earrings, 1 bridal hair comb
by Maria Rypan
My goddaughter Rose’s wedding jewelry was stunning in design and materials! I bought several Swarovski®️ fancy-cut pendants, briolettes, crystals and pearls in assorted sizes.
Rose’s lace cap sleeve dress dictated a pendant necklace style but pattern-oriented Teta Marika (aka me) couldn’t just center a fancy pendant on a chain! No, she played around creating a pleasing pattern and repeat with the variety of crystals and pearls from the Swarovski®️ stash. Though the necklace perfectly complimented the dress, Rose cherished the sterling silver Italian heart-shaped closure!
For the Dangle Drop Earrings, I wrapped loops on two dozen headpins with 2mm pearls and 3mm crystals. My friend Jo-Ann attached them above the large briolettes on two chains. These earrings had sparkle and movement. The second pair of earrings was single facetted briolettes which echoed the fancy pendant shape.
I used the pinch and twist method for making Rose’s bridal hair comb. This technique is so simple, I was able to complete the bridal comb as a passenger on a four-hour road trip to Detroit. This fun technique was an effective way to use a little of everything strung on a flexible wire which wrapped around a comb.
